Review: Frost Like Night by Sara Raasch

Frost Like Night by Sara Raasch

Angra is alive, his Decay is spreading—and no one is safe.

Meira will do anything to save her world. With Angra trying to break through her mental defenses, she desperately needs to learn to control her own magic—so when the leader of a mysterious Order from Paisly offers to teach her, she jumps at the chance. But the true solution to stopping the Decay lies in a labyrinth deep beneath the Season Kingdoms. To defeat Angra, Meira will have to enter the labyrinth, destroy the very magic she’s learning to control—and make the biggest sacrifice of all.

Mather will do anything to save his queen. He needs to rally the Children of the Thaw, find Meira—and finally tell her how he really feels. But with a plan of attack that leaves no kingdom unscathed and a major betrayal within their ranks, winning the war—and protecting Meira—slips farther and farther out of reach.

Ceridwen will do anything to save her people. Angra had her brother killed, stole her kingdom, and made her a prisoner. But when she’s freed by an unexpected ally who reveals a shocking truth behind Summer’s slave trade, Ceridwen must take action to save her true love and her kingdom, even if it costs her what little she has left.

As Angra unleashes the Decay on the world, Meira, Mather, and Ceridwen must bring the kingdoms of Primoria together…or lose everything.
First Line: "This is wrong."

Frost Like Night is the third and final book in the Snow Like Ashes series and I must say it's been one hell of a ride. The series did suffer a middle book syndrome and an un-needed love triangle but the plot overall was very interesting so can't complain too much.

I would have given this a five star but I am still pissed about who Meira ended up with, it's just not right to make us swoon over one guy and then spring the guy who you thought was for sure out of the picture back into the picture, a guy who can't even compare to the swoon-worthy lose sleep over guy. I'm pissed. I don't like how the romance aspect of it ended, the other guy never fully grew on me. SPOILER------- I fucking loved Theron. Even at the end. I'm pretty damn heartbroken honestly. Sara Raasch if you read this please write him a novella or another book, hell a whole series just on Theron with his own happily every after would be even better. :) -----END SPOILER

So clearly yes I'm unhappy about the romance but Frost Like Night was still worth the read, unlike the last book there was tons of action, lots of interesting characters, three points of views shared between Meira, Ceridwen and Mather. I loved not being able to predict what would be the fate of Meira at the end, Raasch did a great job keeping things unpredictable. The book did take me about a week to read and I blame that on me just having a lot going on and certain parts dragging out a bit longer than needed. One thing I do have to ask is NESSA? Why? SPOILER-----Why did she have to die? Meira could have saved her. She was just killed to be killed-----END SPOILER.

I know I'm sitting her complaining more than praising but the fact that I read all three books in the series shows that overall I did enjoy this series. I did grow to love the characters and that's why I feel so much for them,
